A slip on plate flange is a flat steel disc cut from certified plate stock, with no hub and no neck. The pipe passes through the bore and is fillet-welded on the back face, forming the lightest and lowest-cost flanged joint in the EN 1092-1 range. It is the flange of choice for low-pressure.

Products Service Limits
- Pressure ceiling PN16 in the standard range (PN25/PN40 available on small sizes by request); above that, step up to a hubbed Type 11 or a Type 12 weld neck.
- No severe cyclic loading, vibration, or thermal cycling - the fillet weld and the thin plate profile leave no fatigue margin.
- Not for steam or high-temperature condensate; carbon steel ratings fall steeply above 300 °C in the EN 1092-1 tables, and the plate profile has no hub to shed heat.

FAQ
Q: Is a plate flange forged or machined?
A: Machined from plate. The disc is cut from certified plate stock, then bored, faced, and drilled. There is no forging die and no hub profile to machine - that is the source of the price difference against a hubbed Type 11 flange.
Q: Can a slip-on plate flange carry steam?
A: No. A Type 01 plate flange is built for low-pressure, non-critical service. For steam, high-temperature condensate, or cyclic duty, specify a hubbed slip-on (Type 11) or a weld neck (Type 12) with the correct pressure–temperature rating for the material.
Q: Are DIN 2576 and EN 1092-1 Type 01 flanges interchangeable?
A: They are dimensionally close for common PN10 sizes, but differences exist in thickness, pitch circle diameters, and facing dimensions. While they are not formally identical, we can manufacture and supply both DIN 2576 and EN 1092-1 Type 01 flanges, as well as a full range of American (ASME/ANSI/AWWA) and European (EN/DIN/BS) standard products.
